Kingsway
Ted Schofield, 4mm scale OO gauge, British Railways (London Midland Region) - circa 1960 - 1965.
Kingsway a fictitious station between Rochdale and Milnrow on the old Oldham loop now part of the Manchester Metro. Though now there is actually a stop on the Metro at Kingsway Buisness Park. I have modelled the area between the period 1960 to 1965. Kingsway is a district of Rochdale just to the east of Rochdale Station that I spent my early years living in and though all the street names and buildings, ie Lowerplace Primary School /ERA cotton mill / Prince Albert Pub, do or did exist they are not modelled on the actual buildings.
I have used Scalescenes downloadable card kits for most of the buildings with the platform, pavements and walls scratchbuilt using wood and Slaters Plastikard, the signals are Ratio as is the water tower.
The layout consists of two scenic baseboards each 4ft long with curved sections at each end leading onto a six road traverser. As can be seen from the photos one of the boards is well advanced while the other still has lots of work to do though the buildings for the second board are coming along. I will post more photos as the layout progresses.

Some more views of Kingsway, including the second scenic board under development. What can be seen clearly is the elevated nature of the railway.
A further update from Kingsway, showing the progress on the urban scene around the railway, including the local pub.
