Smithick Vale

We decided to have week sorting out the issues mentioned on the previous page, to that end we didn't have any themed running session this week. The first job was to fix the out of line back boards before the back scenes were added. The webmaster was fed up cloning out the non alligned joins in Photoshop, so now they've been cloned out for real! We drilled both boards inserted an allignment bolt, simple but effective. When the papers have been added they should be invisible. The poits on the crossover and the loops have been adjusted and now work perfectly. One set of points that feed the hidden loops requires a new point motor, but everything else now functions as it should do.
Prior to work starting on the layout this week, we managed a photo session with trains from the mid 1990s. This was the final years of Sectorisation and Regional Railways featured widely accross Britain. The following pictures show how Smithick Vale looked in the final years of British Rail.
Prior to doing a bit of work on the backscenes, we had a bit of a running session with a 1960s Southern Region feel. The Warships had been languishing in the loft and were in need of a run anyway. The LMS got in on the act again, under the test running banner of course.
