Ruthern  7mm Scale  O Gauge

Work has been progressing well with the new O gauge project, 'Ruthern' (as in Ruthern Bridge) which is in the Bodmin area.  So far the baseboards have been contructed, a plan drawn up and track purchased.  We have recently started track laying as can be seen below.

With the track laying completed, work has commenced on wiring the layout up.  Point control uses the 'wire in tube' method, with the polarity of the frog being switched by the point switch.

Wiring underway on Ruthern. The wiring is kept as simple as possible.
Track work on the main layout has now been completed and wired up.  The layout has undergone some scenic work, although this is far from finished.  We have also added a 3.6m extension which will depict an industrial scene.  Part of this will include working wagon turntables, together with a mechanism to get the wagons on and off them!

Work has continued on Ruthern with a lot of good progress being made on the scenic side.  The following pictures show the goods yard.

Time for an update on our O gauge layout 'Ruthern' as there has been considerable progress made recently.  The contruction of the signal box is well underway, while the station continues to take shape.  The engine shed and its environs are looking good, with the pit complete.  Overall the scenics now portray the rural nature of Ruthern.

Looking beyond the station, there is still much to do in the industrial complex.
An offering from Ellis Clark Trains, the new Wickham Trolley which is a super model.  Although it's 7mm scale it's small, but exqusitely detailed.  Some images of the trolley can be seen below.
